Hello, I’m Abbygail! I am a wife and student studying nutrition. I have always loved being in the kitchen from a young age. I can remember being right by my mom’s side, always asking her if I could help her, whether that was cutting the vegetables, stirring, or taste testing.
Growing up in a home where nutrition and home-cooked meals were a priority had a huge impact on me, especially going into adulthood. Taking an unconventional route with school, I found myself studying nutrition and dietetics. Sometimes it’s hard to truly follow the Lord’s will because there are many unknowns, but in the end, you will find your heart so overjoyed with gratitude for where he has placed you. I can surely attest to this with my schooling, work, and marriage experiences.
My hope for you with this blog is that you can find joy in the kitchen just as I do. This can become a place of comfort and leisure, a place where you can find fulfillment in making a from-scratch meal for your family and know you did so gracefully and with joy. I hope to help you overcome the feeling you may have when it comes to cooking by giving you practical tips when it comes to meal planning, grocery shopping, and simplicity with cooking.
I get it. A huge barrier for most people in the kitchen is their time. Time is super valuable, I know, as I balance being a wife and a student studying nutrition. My time is limited when it comes to spending time in the kitchen, so I have to cook meals that will not take much time to prepare but will be delicious and nutritious.
I hope to also share with you new things I have been dabbling with in the kitchen, such as sourdough! What a time-friendly way to get nutritious baked goods on the dinner table! Can’t wait to grow with you and see how the Lord can provide for us through the simplest of ways- in our kitchen!
